Social Media: The Consumer Takes Control

Events of the past few years have caused great growth in the Internet and all things connected to it. But the truth is that the population of the Internet, the consumers, are actually making the net smaller?

Sound weird? Sure it does. But Social Media, especially blogs, have given consumers the ability to band together is smaller, tighter, likeminded groups. These smaller groups have common interests and like to share information and experiences with one another. The effect is a "smaller" Internet.

But it's not just blogging that's driving this group dynamic. Texting, podcasting and the old standby e-mail, also play key roles.

For marketers, this is both a dream and a nightmare.

If you choose to ignore the trend, it's a nightmare. Eventually your customer will leave you for the more advanced thinking competition.

But if you embrace this change, you can actually have a meaningful dialog with your customers and prospects. Imagine that, actually hearing what your customers want and expect in your products and services.

Staying on top of what's happening is our job. Guiding you to make the best use of electronic marketing and communications is what we do best.
